Still no call name for this young lady but we are thinking hard!:)) She is by Allettes Figaro out of Ch Play A While Late Red Autumnhop Ale and will stay with Henrik but she was raised at Mona's place who has done a wonderful job with her first homebred litter!:))

Play A While The Hours - "Harry" just over 4 months old

Harry is by Ch Khalibadh Snöggube out of Ch Play A While Lady Orlando and is owned by Jenny Thomsson.

Puppies by Ch Play A While Nokia

At The Swedish Whippet Club specialty brother and sister was BIS-puppy and BOS-puppy and they are both by Ch Play A While Nokia (out of Ch Adagio Captured Sunshine). BIS was Adagio Move Your Mind and BOS was Adagio Crowdstopper.

4 days full of dogs, dogs and dogs....:))

Wednesday I went up to Eskilstuna and our big Whippet Club Show that is now a day at the nice place Vilsta that is perfect for us dog people as dogs are welcome everywhere! The Whippet Club held a members meeting in the evening were the committee explained what they are focusing at and the members had the possibility to ask questions. We then had a look at a film from the 10 years anniversary show at Skokloster in 1986. Since I was presnt at this show I could point out both people and dogs for those who came in to the breed later on, but it was fun to see the style of clothes and hairdo:)) Also interesting to see how the whippets have changed!

Thursday Lynn Yacoby-Wright judged the dogs and after a short while the sky opened and it started pouring down with rain and it went on in to late evening... Not fun for dogs or people!! The following day she judged the bitches and I showed Ch Play A While Lady Orlando ("Memma") who was placed four in the champion's class and considering the rain Friday also I was pleased about the placing in a strong class and she was rewarded UK (excellent quality)! Then I showed her mother Play A While Mymlan who is soon 11 years old. She loved it and ended up second in the veteran's class. Lynn only handed out 10 UK of all bitches entered so Memma's UK felt very nice!:))

Saturday I first went to see Anna-Lena Bäckvall (Balzac whippets) and we sat down looking at photos from the show drinking a cup of tea! After that I went to Kicki Sandell of Zelig whippets. Kicki currently has a litter 5 weeks old at home out of Play A While Sent I November (the litter is by Höglias Trollbunden). It was very nive seeing the puppies and they sure look very promising in my eyes!

I went up really early Sunday morning for a long drive to Ransäter and an international all breed show to do a last assignment (to be a judge on the breed) on Irish Wolfhounds under judge Nenne Runsten. It was a nice day in spite of all the rain!

Comparing mum and daugter

The top photo was taken 2006 at Mariefred when Memma won a huge puppy class under Jackie Bourdin, in the photo she is on the table being examined when competing for best puppy judged by Nenne Runsten. Memma is just over 4 months old in the photo. The photo below of Memma's daughter Lizzy is reversed and in the photo she is nearly 4 months old.

A puppy soon 4 months old can look quite different....

Today Henrik went all the way up to Mona to have a look at the litter and we took some photos when the puppies are 5.5 weeks old! Henrik is bringing one of the bitch puppies home eventually, so we discussed the bitches "in depth"!!:))

Friday, Saturday and Sunday one could show whippets each day in the north of Sweden. Several whippets bred by Play A While were shown each day with very good results. We were especially happy to hear that Susanne Forsgren had entered "Mira", Play A While Tiimari considering she was lost for two weeks in a huge forest area but finally came home! Mira did very well winning the open class and was best bitch number 4 under Susanne Oschinski (Whipcat) Friday and fifth best bitch Saturday under Bitte Ahrens (Sobers).

Saturday Play A While A Room With A View ended up best bitch and BOS under Bitte Ahrens winning a first CAC!! "Saga" is owned by Ursula Andersson of Skyborne whippets.

Also Play A While A Passage To India "Sakkari" and litter sister Play A While Pippington Park "Greta" were placed in their classes the days they were shown.

Last weekend I did my last assigment on the road of becoming a judge and since of today I am now an official show judge for whippets. I am soon also finished on italian greyhound, greyhound, irish wolfhound and saluki.



This off course feels very nice!!:))

Play A While The Longest Journey, "Leo"!

Leo won the intermediate class last Friday when his best friend Nokia was BOB. Leo was awarded champion quality but was not placed among the last five dogs entered.

Leo is by Play A While Whitstable Bay Ale out of Ch Play A While Lady Orlando.

Today at the internationel all breed dog show in Tvååker Play A While Nokia won à qualifiing CAC and obtained the Swedish champion title! Congratulations to owner Jenny Helming!:) Nokia was also BOB!
